how does the highend compare to the stock Pups?

im actually looking at getting these as well. i figure custom Fender pups with a decent price tag would be a great replacement for standard MIM pups. let me know how they sound if you get them, looking forward to how this thread develops.

ya according to the guy, the crack hasnt moved in 2 years or so, so im pretty comfortable with it for a while. @treekiller ya if i come accross a deal ill pick up a fretless neck cos ive always wanted to play around with one of those and eventually get a double bass as well!

so last night i went and checked out the bass, and the crack wasnt that bad at all, and i talked him down to 200! so if/when the crack gets worse im already interested in an aftermarket neck (particulalry a fretless less from mighty) the bass needs a lil tlc, but i enjoy projects like that...

@ryn ya ive been think of squires too because of their great value! so ill definitely keep in mind.

funny you should mention a neck swap, cos i just found out that the mim j that im considering has a small crack on the back of the head near the tuning gear. how big of a problem is this? should i worry about it? where are some good places to buy necks incase i decide to swap down the line?

ya im now gettin a lil confused. im guessing that ive been misunderstanding alot of forums about the difference of the necks between P and J basses. which would you describe as a skinnier, more rounded neck? my old johnson seems to be that way and i find it more comfortable than basses with...
