Amazing work mate. He wants a fretted one. At 80 years old, he can't care enough about dexterity needed to play in-tune without frets (as he used to when he was younger). He also dislikes U-basses and the idea form him is to get a similar feeling to play a double bass.

Wow, that's amazing. It looks similar to my father's, but it does not sound as similar to a double-bass like my father's. I know there's a "commercial" model as well, I just cannot remember the brand or model.
