    Boss ODB-3 Bass Overdrive Visualized

Hello! I am the person who has been taking doing the Guitar Pedals Visualized project. I haven't posted here in a loooooong time, but I became aware of this thread and figured I'd throw in some useful information to the discussion, and answer any questions if you all have any. While you can't...

Help me find a good & cheap octave pedal

From the clips I've heard, the OC-2 sounded great. I'd love to get one some day, but but I got this pedal for 1/2 of what the OC-2 goes for used, and it does what I need well enough. The tracking is very important to me for what I'm currently recording and the Digitech is tracking outstanding.

Help me find a good & cheap octave pedal

Alright, I went to a local music shop and they had a Digitech Bass Synth Wah. I read that on mode 7 it can be used as an octave pedal, so I tried it out. It sounded good and track very, very well, so I bought it. Thanks for all the help and info guys!

Help me find a good & cheap octave pedal

Thanks for the explanation! I use my neck pickup on my jazz bass, model J's with all 250k pots...so the tone isn't very bright to begin with. Round wound strings though. If I can track down to my G on my 4 string then I'll be fine...much lower than that and the octave down's fundamental is...

Help me find a good & cheap octave pedal

How low will the OC-2 track on a 4 string bass? I have a MXR M87 compressor I can use in front of it if need be for tracking...I'll be compressing at some point anyway on the recordings.

How about the Digitech BSW? Apparently one of the settings gives an octave down. It look like I couldn't mix a dry signal in with it though. Yeah I don't understand that either. I can program software, but I'm fairly clueless when it comes to low level circuits and analog hardware.

Also...I didn't realize there were analog octave pedals until recently! I've been playing guitar for about 15 years and all the pitch shifter's I've bought have been digital. I wasn't aware pitch shifting could be done analog...slowing the signal down by 1/2 I suppose?

Thanks for the tips. I'll keep an eye on GC used and look up the Octamizer.

Help me find a good & cheap octave pedal

I'll take a look. They were open bids. I've never bid on a pedal that didn't skyrocket in price by bidders in the last 10 seconds. Almost every time I bid or watch a non-buy it now pedal on ebay watch people bid war to almost double the guitar center used price. I'll keep an eye on the ebay...

Help me find a good & cheap octave pedal

Alright, I'm looking for used OC-2 pedals now. GC has one for $80. Almost everyone on Ebay thinks they're worth $150+, and I didn't spot one in the classifieds section here.

Why the OC-2 instead of the OC-3? They don't appear to be any cheaper used.

So I have a signal split signal chain right now that goes like this: Fender MIM Jazz Bass with Dimarzio Model J's, running on the neck pickup only, into... Before Split: EHX Superego Split 1: Wooly Mammoth Clone -> Digitech Whammy V -> DAW track Split 2: No pedals, just strait into another...

    Soundblox Pro Bass Envelope Filter

Can the filters be set to static state on this pedal? For example, can the LFO be set to minimum and have the filters not change frequency as time/dynamics change?
