nobody's mentioned the frets! a 20-25yr bass will have uneven wear, u's where the strings touch the fret or if it's had a fret level or 3 they'll be extremely low. I haven't played a relic but i'm guessing they don't make the bass less playable by ******* with the frets then charging you for...
