    Tony Franklin Fretless...Shim Neck?

To anyone that owns a Tony Franklin Fretless, did you have to shim the neck to achieve low action? Please share the following measurements of how you have your bass setup: nut height, truss rod, action, pickups heights. Thanks.

Maybe I'm Daft... So Let's Talk Fender Limited Edition 70's Precision Bass Natural

Did you buy that from Willcutt? I remember seeing this bass with "four lines" of grain in the upper left corner (bottom photo).

Maybe I'm Daft... So Let's Talk Fender Limited Edition 70's Precision Bass Natural

Yes, $700-750 seems to be a more realistic price range for this bass...in the category of the Classic 50's Precision. We know Fender always implements major hype when something new comes out, therefore big price tag. Look at the roasted series precision...beautiful bass but $2,000+...c'mon!

Could you upload some photos of your bass as well as some sound clips?

Maybe I'm Daft... So Let's Talk Fender Limited Edition 70's Precision Bass Natural

In addition to what I stated earlier, I suppose what still holds me back from purchasing this bass is the cost and what you get for that price. It seems inflated in true Fender fashion. That said, I do think the bass looks quite nice and I love the ash/maple and many of these that I have...

Maybe I'm Daft... So Let's Talk Fender Limited Edition 70's Precision Bass Natural

I could take or leave the binding but there is just something preventing me from swiping the card for this bass. Maybe I'm waiting for a new release of a Fender USA American Vintage 70's Precision. The sad part is, it would probably have a street price of $2,000+ especially since the Mexico...

Maybe I'm Daft... So Let's Talk Fender Limited Edition 70's Precision Bass Natural

I've contemplated buying one as well. Music stores that I've checked don't seem to be moving them. What is a little disappointing me is the premium price but no hardshell case. The Classic 50's Lacquer Precision comes with a case at $900. It's not a big deal, but I wish it had the fancier...

    Need to Move Bridge

I need to move a bass bridge an 1/8" to the left for better string alignment at the end of the neck and over the pickup pole pieces. Should I use toothpicks/wood glue or wood putty to fill the holes? I want to choose something strong since I will be drilling so close to the original screw...

    Choosing a G&L LB-100

That sunburst looks beautiful especially with the matching headstock but if it were me I'd go with the swamp ash/maple. That ash looks nice in clear or with a vintage tint like your example. I have a 75RI jazz ash/maple and that LB-100 ash/maple would be part of the family. Mine looks almost...

    G&L LB-100 with SB-1 Pickup

Has anyone put SB-1 pickups in an LB-100? I'm looking at both basses. I like the body style of the LB-100 better but the sound of the SB-1 is fantastic.

    Poly over frets?

Very good. Thanks for the advice.

    Poly over frets?

How about putting a thin piece of tape (scotch blue) over each fret then spray or would it be easier to just spray and scrape?

    Poly over frets?

I'm refinishing a maple neck. Any negatives if the poly is on the frets? Will it affect the tone in any way?
