I stopped by the wood store this morning and picked up a few pieces of poplar. The walnut they had was either too expensive, or didn't fit my needs. Maybe I'll wait until next month or shop around on the 'Bay.

The closest I came to finding black dyed veneer is from Rockler. They sell 3 square feet of black dyed veneer but it varies in width from 4.5" to 6.5" and are only 12"long.

I have a Micro VR stack (2 cabs and the head) and a Fender Rumble 500 combo (2x10 + 350 watt head). The Rumble blows the Ampeg stack away. I tried gigging with the whole Ampeg stack, and had to plug into the PA. It could not get the job done. But the Rumble does. And it does it inside or...

I have a bunch of Jon Anderson's albums, and am a big fan of his work, with Yes, Vangelis, Yes Offshoots, and as a solo artist. I've seen him multiple times in concert. Incredibly, his voice keeps getting better as he ages, like fine wine.

And the maple neck arrived today as well. As soon as my credit card closes, I'll be able to order pickups, wood, and tuners.

I've spent a lot of time in Florida. I used to travel quite a bit for a previous job and went on at least 4 or 5 trips a year to Disney. Just beware of the wall of humidity. Birds get stuck in mid-air. Stay near the ceiling fans.
