Is there a way to improve B string on Fender Jazz?

One of the most effective ways to brighten and get a more defined low ‘B’ string is to: • Use an ‘exposed core’ style ‘B’ string ...and • Use a lower gauge’B’ string...try a .123 to .125 exposed core ‘B’ string NOTE: This works best if your E/A/D/G strings are normal non-exposed core...

    Dual output bass

One of the best reasons for considering 'Dual Outputs' is that when two pickups with different outputs are run together in 'Mono' they LOAD each other in strange not too pleasing ways. The Gibson EB-2D is a great example...the huge 32Kohm output of the neck Mudbucker and the little mini bridge...

    Dual output bass

Here's the story...long but a good one. My first bass was an EB-2...I was 15 at the time (1965). I was running my 1965 sunburst EB-2 thru a Standel Super Imperial w/D140's instead of D-130's (which were the stock speakers). I changed them out for the D-140's. Somewhere along the way the...

    Hagsgtrom Coronado IV Odd Question

Looks to me like the 'Crown' shaped metal truss rod cover on the front of the peghead has a traditional 'Kings Neck' metallic sticker stuck to it. The bass in question here has the 'Crown' shaped truss rod cover but not sticker...worn off...taken off...??? What ever the case...looks like...

    Hagsgtrom Coronado IV Odd Question

Here's a scan of the Coronado IV page from a Hagstrom Catalog that clearly shows the 'Crown' shaped truss rod cover above the nut on the front of the peghead...just to add to the fun.

    Hagsgtrom Coronado IV Odd Question

Question: Did any Hagstrom Coronado IV basses have TWO truss rod adjustment locations? One at the heel and one at the nut? I am looking at a Hagstrom Coronado IV that appears to have the standard heel adjustment location but has one just beyond the nut with a Hagstrom "Crown" metal truss rod...
