I was curious about the solid block p-bass looking pickup also. Curious what it was.

I guess I will go against the "grain". I liked the stickers, but great bass either way.

I would lend them, but I would only do so if I was willing to take the risk of getting them back damaged, or not getting them back at all and able to accept that without getting all bent out of shape.

When I got the bass, the 2 bushing screws were missing on the tuners. The gears were there. Only the screws missing. I don't know why. I replaced them with the phillips head screws. They work perfectly fine. Not sure why they were missing. It would be easy enough to get some slotted...

I had one of those BB Yamaha's. Great Basses. Sometimes wish I had kept it (too many basses)

It has been stored in the dark as far as we know for years. He died in 2002 and was apparently a pretty prominent local musician. I may try to track down some of his family or friends. He could have penned that in when he built it, or purchased it, which seems likely, why else date it. Also...

Here is what I am leaning toward now. With the 1 3/4" nut width, and the shape of the head stock. Old style Precision neck. The Decal is perfect if you scrape off the Precision. See Fender Precision Bass 1953 Blonde Body Only Refin

I measured the nut. It is 1 3/4".

Could the neck be from a Telecaster bass. There is a 68 Telecaster bass neck for sale on Reverb right now. Shape is pretty much the same. Fender Tele Bass Neck 1968 Original Vintage N01

That is cool. It is awesome to know something about the guy.

Body and bridge. Body looks like ??? Mahogany? No pickguard screw holes. Bridge is threaded.
