You might want to consider a Sansamp ged 2112. I've used several bass rigs but my favorite tone for practicing at home is the 2112 plugged into mixer and out the near field monitors. It has built in speaker emulation so it sounds great through home stereo system, even with distorted rock tones...

How did it go? I know this is a very old thread, but the reason I ask is I have two D-bass 115's that I use with a Geddy Lee 2112 preamp, and I've been thinking about upgrading the drivers to Kappalite.
