    The shuttle combos were gold for upright and worked well for doubling. I had the 8 and 8T which was a powerful little mini stack.

    BAM200 user. This was a popular head for upright users and with pre-amp works great. Can't speak to TC Electronics Thrust BQ500 since I have never used it.

    I was a GB shuttle combo user but now Crazy 8 with TC BAM200 head. Cab in the bag w/ should strap and head in the back pocket of the bass bag. Always a single load in.

    I pulled the trigger on the 5 string. Will most likely change the strings so will report back once I have had it for a while.

    Congrats! Reminds me of the GB 8 inch but I assume yours will sound much better. I love the small 8 inch cabs and still rocking the Crazy 8 these days w/ the BAM200.

    100% what Jason said. Spiros reveal arco technique flaws for sure and long bow strokes on open strings everyday in the mirror works.

    +1 I have kept my crazy 8 b/c it is great. I have the TC BAM200 head but this little combo never disappoints. I really wish I held on to my VL108 and VL208. Heavy by today's standard but sound so good.

    I have had good luck with the realist into the OC5. Can get that synth sound when you stack all three octave options.
