Total noob amp question from a total noob.

I am positive they were all closed backs originally. I can see where they were screwed on. I am not playing any of them loud. All the amps I have that I fixed were originally guitar amps, that belonged to my brother..... They all seem to work pretty good and sound OK with my bass though, but...

Total noob amp question from a total noob.

They ARE guitar amps. The backs were removed because they were all busted in some way. Someone wanted to have a look and lost the backs. The same thing could easily happen with bass amps though. They all originally HAD backs on them, that much is obvious.

Yeah I mean theres no back on the main amp box with the speaker in it on any of them I fixed except the one I made one for....

Total noob amp question from a total noob.

Also, an addon question. I just recently fixed a whole bunch of amps. They are all missing the backs, because someone has been in them before, at least to look. Does having the back on make for better sound? I felt like it might, so I made a back for the one pictured above, and I really...

Total noob amp question from a total noob.

So those of you that have read my posts, know that I am a total noob. I have a noob question. The one cheap little 20 or 25 watt Stephens amp I repaired and have been using has what looks to be a digital display that looks like a tuner. It doesn’t seem to work though, or maybe it works really...

Hello, Matt back again for another beginner/noob post!

Hi, some of you may know me from my first post. I introduced myself here: Hello, introduction here, first time poster, first time bassist | Page 3 | TalkBass.com and got some good advice and tips and opinions. So I've been playing a couple more weeks now. Don't get enough time into it that I...

Hello, introduction here, first time poster, first time bassist

Thanks for all the replies and encouragement fellas! That's why I joined your forum. Tonight, I practiced my G-major scale again, forward and backward about 20 times. I'm still slow and clunky, but at least by now I remember where to put my fingers for the notes. Also learned my 2nd song...

Hello, introduction here, first time poster, first time bassist

Haha, glad you like the green. I HATED it when I was looking at it online considering buying it. I tried to select ANY other color the seller had available, and as soon as I did, the cost nearly doubled! They were really pushing this sale with this color only. When I first got it I hated it a...

Hello, introduction here, first time poster, first time bassist

Good suggestions. Thanks. The first 2 songs are nothing I would normally listen to, but I recognize them. They do sound like they have an easy bass line though (now that I am actually listening for that) I know the better than Ezra song too, very well. I'm not a huge fan of them but I can...

Hello, introduction here, first time poster, first time bassist

Cool, man, thanks for responding. Yeah I had my buddy the bass player, and my dad noodle around on it some, and my buddy said "it has good action" whatever that means. My dad said it plays well too (but both immediately identified the same 2 frets they said were a little high) I know it's low...

Hello, introduction here, first time poster, first time bassist

Hey fellas, my name is Matt Willard, I am 40 years old, and I live in Buffalo NY. I just bought my first bass guitar. My brother is a guitar prodigy and has been playing guitar since he was 6 years old. He’s the only true professional musician I know. He plays in multiple bands, and teaches...
