    However, on some recorded work I've seen him sing into a Coles 4048 ribbon mic, probably through a Big Muff, and then to tape.

    Close. He's had a Gretsch Anneversiary Junior Customized to house a Green Bullet on a retractable cord. This does go through his guitar's output through a Big Muff and into a Silvertone 100 Watt 6X10 amplifier.
