I've been using 18's since the 70's. These are Road cabinets and I also have a pair of Cerwin-Vega folded horns with 18's.

Sure, I'll take a number. I've never heard of Ken Smith strings but I'll give them a look.

I started out on a short scale Vox Panther. I switched to long scale for about 30 years but ended up going back to short scale with a Gibson SG a couple years ago. I'm using Chrome flatwound on the Vox and Rotosound roundwound on the Gibson.

I have some Road gear. 2 Road 440 heads, 1 220 head and 2 1x18 cabs. I used it all a lot in the 90's. For the smaller stuff I just used 1 440 head and the 2 1x18 cabs. For bigger stuff I used 2 440 heads and 2 1x18 cabs on top of 2 Cerwin-Vega folded horns. I have since slimmed down to a...
