Looking for advice: My ears are destroyed - contemplating hanging it up

Sorry for you. I suffer from tinnitus since 2000 after a loud concert by a hard rock band. Bassicaly, it changed my whole life : I wanted to be a sound engineer, i was pretty social, i wanted to play live... 22 years after, i work behind a desk , i live like a bear without going to parties, to...

Strings & Spector experts : help me to find a B string that fits !

Thanks for your answer. Considering how much I loved Dean Markley BS, Apex is my number 1 choice to try. I hope they will be distributed in Europe one day. But I'll search on Ebay. I'm really curious about Galli and Mayones. Maybe I should try them too. Thanks !

Strings & Spector experts : help me to find a B string that fits !

Finding a single tapered B string is a good idea, thanks. Dunlop is pretty popular here but I hated all the sets I tried. Maybe I wasn't lucky with this company

Strings & Spector experts : help me to find a B string that fits !

No ! That's why that was really weird (and disappointing) : sames gauges (45-125), so I was pretty confident for the lo-riders... Thanks for your suggestion, really apreciate it. I don't think i could find it in France (we have only standard sets from d'Addario), but I will try. I like both...

Strings & Spector experts : help me to find a B string that fits !

Hey folks, I have a 2009 Spector Euro 5LX. I love this bass but as everyone knows, most non tapered B strings don't fit the bridge. I like a lot tapered strings but they are sometimes hard to find (I'm French). And I don't want to widen the bridge. I would like to know which standard (= non...

Nikki Sixx's rig on Dr Feelgood

Hi, Do you have some infos (old magazine interviews...) about the gear he used to record Dr Feelgood ? I'm not a really big fan of the band but the sound on this album (as well as the S/T one with Corabi) is stunning. Thanks !

Any infos about Dusty Hill's "studio rig" ?

Hi, We know Dusty's live rig but there's not many infos on what he uses/used in the studio. According to this interview (made during the Mescalero era), "Dusty’s studio rig" is "an old Ampeg SVT head with an 8x10 cabinet". I haven't found more infos but I'm really curious about it. ZZ Top...

A great point of view on the "Ampeg sound"

The original post is just a quotation of a bass player who shared his opinion on a sound he believes fits perfectly for his music. And I just said I agree with him. Nothing more, nothing less. I love my B100R (one hell of a combo !), I love my SVP-PRO running into my Warwick Hellborg PA into my...

Gene Simmons Bass sound on Creatures of the Night?

I'm not a huge fan of KISS but I also don't understand why Gene is so criticized as a bass player. And the main thing : you can't deny he's a really great songwriter. By the way, I'd love to know what bass & amp he used on that album : the tone is absolutely fantastic.
