I had Evah Slaps with a gut G (from Pirastro) and liked it a lot. The E is a little flabby for me, but the rest really sounded great.

Spiro solos tuned down to concert pitch would be a middle ground btw Weichs and corellis. Easier to play than weichs but more sound and roundness than corellis.
