I can never quite get a consistent sound with a pick. I try for a rounded, tubby sound, but I can only get it if I hold the bass a certain way.

I have a Jay Turser Copy of a Hofner. Looking for a rounded thump sound. Recently, I've been trying different picks along with misc. objects such as plastic spoons. Any recommendations?

I've got a similar situation with a Jay Turser Copy. It has humbucking pickups witch sound ok, but I was wondering if anyone knew whether or not the hofner one's sound better.
