DiMarzio Model P vs SD Quarter Pounder

I have a Fender Nate Mendel P that comes stock with a QP. I like it a lot. I use Cobalt flats on it. I also have a 2011 CV 60s P and for fun installed a Model P a couple years ago. The stock pickup was fine but the Model P is a great one. I did change out the harness with a Kellingsound (eBay...

    Modding a Squier CV 70s P bass

My 2011 CV 60s with a Dimarzio Model P. The stock pickup is a great one but wanted to give the Model P a try…it isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.

    P-Bass Pickup recommendation for Blues

IMHO…I have 3 P basses with different pickups. Dimarzio Model P, GZR and SD Quarter pounder. All work great for blues. String choice makes a difference.

    The Official Rumblekat Club

Doesn’t look too bad. Maybe try to push them in when there isn’t tension on the bridge…you might need to add a little glue if the grommets keep coming out. With 3 point bridges if the front single bolt is a bit lower than the rear bolts it can help prevent them from pulling out. The Rumblekat is...

    Sansamp into a Rumble 200

I have a Rumble 200 and a Sansamp BDDI. I’ve ran it both ways…into the input and knobs at 10, 2, 2, 10, adjusting the Rumble pre amp as needed and using the manual BDDI recommended settings…tweaking as needed. (I found this method a bit much trying to adjust 2 preamps…especially when I didn’t...

Ready for a workout - which one?

Also the neck on my JC is very stable. I hardly have to do any TR adjustments. About my bridge comment…I never had a problem with the stock bridge. I changed it because I wanted to have individual string height adjustment. The bridge pulling out comment I made wasn’t necessary. 👍🏼

Ready for a workout - which one?

I have a 2011 CV 60 MIC P bass and a Jack Casady. Different beasts. The CV 60 does not have a fat neck. If you want a fat neck P look at a Vintera 50s P. I had one for a couple years. Great bass but sold for a Nate Mendel P…another great one. I use Cobalt flats on my JC and they are perfect. I...

Sterling by MusicMan Joe Dart Vision

Ordered the Vision a couple weeks ago, number 288 I think. First SBMM…I’m mostly a Fender P and JB guy with a couple Epiphones…JC and Rumblekat. I had show money saved and was looking at adding another unique bass to my arsenal. My wife liked the Vision look plus the no knobs…should be fun.

Could Use Some Help on Short Scale Flat-wound String Choice

On my Rumblekat I had a set of SS D’Addario chromes for almost a year. Great strings but wanted to try something else. I came across a YouTuber Jonathan Wong that recommended rounds for the Rumblekat. I had a set of SS EB Cobalt flats in the drawer for a few months and installed them last week...

    musicians practice gloves?

During the winter months I use the gloves. Mostly on the plucking hand but sometimes both hands. My finger tips tend to crack and bleed from eczema. The sound of the bass is affected (plucking hand) especially when using flats. I just work with the amp/bass settings to get the sound that I...
