Case review Gator GTSA-GTRBASS ATA Molded Bass Guitar Case with TSA Latches

Love the new case! Very well made and thought out. I bought this for my new 1975 fender jazz which is all original with case and pickups pots etc. but wanted a good case to take it out in. Gonna put the original with parts I don’t want to carry away for safe keeping. Anyway the light comes in...

My new (lol) 1975 Fender Jazz Bass

Finally got around to taking it to my luthier. I was going to have the original single coil pups put back in but alas they are very weak 0K so I ordered a new pickup set from dominger single coils jazz pickups. I love the thumpers he made for my p bass. So once that’s all in I’ll take it back...

My new (lol) 1975 Fender Jazz Bass

Here’s a quick question for all of you guys. Maybe subjective but here we go. Knowing all we know now about this bass what would you think it’s worth. I know something is worth what someone is willing to pay. I’m not giving the price on here but just curious if you guys would have an idea of...

My new (lol) 1975 Fender Jazz Bass

I agree that’s why I love the 88 peavy foundation rock solid bass very light.

Also if we really want to split hairs the old dimarzio j bass pickups may be heavier and they have more wire also that and the ashtray and neck p/u cover off maybe it gets closer to 9 pounds.

What do you consider boat anchor and lightweight btw. My 79 USA T-40 weighs as much S a Buick and my 88 USA Foundation is extremely light. Again idk exact weights but I think the foundation is around 8 lbs and the T-40 is like 12 or something absolutely ridiculous.

Ok put my son in the scale then added the bass. It’s a digital scale. So it was 9.5 lbs that’s with both pickup covers on it. I put those on today just to look at it like that lol.

My new (lol) 1975 Fender Jazz Bass

So last bit of info on this bass which may clear up everything lol. It was sold to me on consignment from the music store owners friend and band mate of 25-30 years. The bassist that was selling it saw my Facebook post about the bass and replied that he bought that bass new in 1975. I am super...

My new (lol) 1975 Fender Jazz Bass

I’m going to leave that to an expert. I’ve found that with my limited time it’s been easier to take it to my luthier to get all my basses setup and done right. I’m also rather impatient with tedious work. Lol. I guess that pick was a quick way to shim that thing at some point lol. Thank you for...

My new (lol) 1975 Fender Jazz Bass

Ok I took the neck off today. Here’s the pics. So there is no neck stamp or pencil markings. So immediately I was worried even though this is all aged the same and patina matches everywhere. I was looking in the fender site and they said between 73-81 neck stamps were often omitted or written in...

My new (lol) 1975 Fender Jazz Bass

So what are the odds someone played the absolute hell out of this thing and it just kept working and didn’t break and stayed all original? Seems crazy to think to me.

I guess after looking online that cap looks stock also. I’m def going back to the stock pickups and wiring and keeping this thing OG original.
