    Geddy Lee or American Standard Jazz?

    Wow, this was my exact delema a couple weeks ago. I finally went with the American Standard Jazz in black with maple board. This 2008 MIA jazz bass plays just as good as the vintage 4001 Rick I used to have.

    I have on order a 1001RBII and RBH 410/4. I used to used exclusively ampeg as a teen, but I love the quality of the GK. Also most of them are still american made.

    your first ever bass

    1970's Rickenbacker. Paid only 350 bucks because of a deep scratch on the back. I didn't care because the deep scratch was facing me and the guy teaching me to play had a Rickenbacker. Sold it for 800 (thought I was making out with $$). Wish I never got rid of it. I miss the coated...

    Are you really happy being "The Bass Player"

    I quit playing for like 10 years. Now that I am playing again I remember why I picked bass in the first place. The bass adds the groove. It's what everone is moving to, even if they don't know it all the time. I wouldn't trade the bassist role for any other in the band.
