"Official" Mikro Bass Club Part 2

Hi Mate, Yeah, reasonably happy with the setup, except for the E string and buzz at the 9th fret, whenever I depress the D string. I can even hear it through the amp! Raising the action and saddle height hasn't helped overcome this problem, so Ibanez can deal with it. Like NoiseNinja...

"Official" Mikro Bass Club Part 2

Appreciated the ease of use of the truss rod mechanism too after having completed my first ever bass setup; :hyper: - Raised action to eliminate fret buzz - Adjusted saddles to correct intonation problems as every string was sharp at the 12th fret. However the E string was still out...

The Official Short Scale Bass Club -- Part 3

Hi there, This is my first ever bass, an Ibanez Mikro. Got her a couple of days ago. Isn't she lovely in the sunlight? I chose a shortie, even though I'm tall enough to easily play a long-scale, as I have always played short-scale instruments (ukulele, mandolin, fiddle) and figured it can...

"Official" Mikro Bass Club Part 2

That's a very interesting conversion of a barra uke there matey. As a fellow uke-player, one of the reasons I decided on a short-scale was because, deep-down, I'm not a bass, but a uke-player, even though bass rocks! :bassist: So the Mikro made perfect sense to me. ;) Also evaluated the Kala...

"Official" Mikro Bass Club Part 2

Hi, It's an ISGB501-BK guitar standard gig bag and fits it like a glove. Tons of padding, got thrown in with the deal after some serious haggling ($50 value here in overpriced Oz). :D [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

Just Starting Out at 44 years old!

Hey, I'm 49 and just started on bass too. Also play the uke, fiddle and mandolin. Oh and a button accordion, but badly. Got myself an Ibanez Mikro hooked up to a Silvertone prac amp, rocking out with root and fifth! Basses rule!

New Members: How did you find TalkBass?

Got here because suddenly got interested in the bass guitar after I acquired a bass amp for my semi-acoustic uke, of all things. Started googling to get a feel for what's out there and found this place. :)

"Official" Mikro Bass Club Part 2

Hi there, Newbie from down under. This is my first bass. Got it today with an Ibanez gigbag and stand. I think it needs a setup (lots of fret buzz near the neck and harmonic overtones, is that a sign?). Otherwise, she rocks! :bassist: I got a short-scale bass because, even though I'm very...
