This would blow new life to my 80's Ibanez Jazz... and if merging with this so that the stock VVT is retained with pair of DPDT volume pots, neck pull for serial with volume controls, and neck pull for its tone control. Interesting...
Big thanks to fig drawing these schematics from...
I think that converting standard Jazz Bass with VVT so that both volumes have push-pull switches, and:
Neck volume to switch between parallel (down) or serial like here fig shared earlier, and
Bridge volume to switch between volume (down) or have additional bridge

My Ibanez EHB1505MS has their active preamp with parametric middle control... which I appreciate and some are big fans of, but I've ended up playing the bass passive pretty much all times. The good is that there's tone control in passive mode, and not the disturbing noise when training solo...
My $.02... the preamp looks same as my EHB, mine has active/passive switch thus if battery runs out, no problems. Some appraise the preamp variable mid tuning possibilities but I'm mostly running mine all center and passive.
This is of course post the fix but as the preamp supports fully...
I've installed one to Chinese Strandberg Boden Prog 5 clone. Very easy to install, absolutely no noise and good quality pots. And much longer battery life than Ibanez EHB. And it fits to tight spaces too. Strogly suggested!
Most efficient use of the leds with battery would be PWM pulsing power to them. Dunno about perfect frequency for not causing issues with venue lights or camera shutters, but definitely that would lessen energy consumed by the leds.
Most likely there should be led drivers powered by batteries...
That's what happens with my Chinese Boden Prog 5 custom job with proper pickups and Darkglass preamp. And it depends is that good that the series pickups are louder than parallel/single.
I'm also doing digital mixing and setting up gain properly for each input is a challenge itself, having...
I would properly crimp wires to the connector halfs. And you need one per pickup, and one for the bridge grounding, don't forget that!
Maybe add cavity shielding along the way and wire it to the bridge grounding connector...
Per the pictures, you likely mean that ground the shielding to the volume pot grounding. That's how it looks from the wiring job...
But this soldering wire to the copper grounding is good idea. Mine has just grounding wire squeezed between electronics cover and aluminium tape wrapped over the...
The BLE uses 2.4GHz frequency so this is likely not your issue. But the transmissions are bursts which the electronics is performing thus this might be induced interference from the power circuitry.
Pretty much any wire acts like an antenna for powerful enough interference. In your case I would...
This is what you can do with those jacks with switches. Most modern effect boxes do the same, like my Line6 HX One.
For the bass, I prefer single jack. I got excited about Billy Sheehan's stereo setup, or Rick 8003 approach, but any stage stuff with double wires sticking out from the instrument...
One could also use one stereo jack to implement this setup using above DiMarzio setup, it has two mono jacks but both provide "stereo" when rear volume isn't pulled.
Having quality TRS cable and use stereo jack, for example wiring neck PU to tip, bridge PU to ring. For using TS cable the...
Here is the schematics, bad paper drawing but better than nothing:
Definitely needed to cross check my connections, likely some ground is done wrong to make pickups catch surrounding hums in some cases.
Long story short, got fairly ok Chinese copy of the Boden 5 bass. It had some Korean pickups & tone module. B-string was very muted, sound was not anything I'm targeting at.
So, after working with the neck profile more to the original shape, and didn't destroy it, let's fix the sound.
Haven't...
