The Atelier Z Bass Owners Club

Totally! Would look too flashy with a 4er, it is a 19mm. Bartolini XTCT. 10 lbs ash body standard 60s spacing. Standard Atelier Z JBZ pickups 51.7mm width at the nut (49mm nut width), 82.6mm at 12th fret, and 91.6mm at 24th fret. Truly an aircraft carrier neck. All the Beta6 necks are...

Help ID this (cause I want one)

You can get in touch with their dealers, I recommend Miki gakki bass side Osaka, they speak English and will deliver overseas, they in fact have a few in stock right now but you can ask them if they have a slot available for order.

Question: can you help me identify this Japanese Fender Jazz Bass

That's a 1994-1995 FGN made JB62-58. A nice bass, I had a few. The bridge that came with these are vintage already, just doesn't have the spiral saddles. The higher model like JB62-75, JB62-98, or JB62-115 will come with the true to vintage spiral saddles and better tuners as well as alder...

Receiving a Bass heavier than advertised

If you're particular about weight and ergonomics on a 5 strings Jazz bass you definitely should not be looking at Fenders, check out Kikuchi Guitars, Sadowsky, Momose, Black Smoker, Tsubasa Guitar Workshop, and even EDWARDS by ESP. They consistently deliver low 9s to high 8s with active 5er...

Question: can you help me identify this Japanese Fender Jazz Bass

If you can get a serial we can tell right away, but this is a Fender Japan '62 Reissue JB62-58 in Old Lake Placid blue, aftermarket pickguard, basswood body.

The matching head and tort got me, hard to see here but it’s transparent blonde white! Ash body and all, hard to pass up such a beautiful bass. My No #1 is gloss black matching head with tort, they’ll look absolutely incredible together.

    Jazz Bass Reverse Gear Tuners

These are Res O Lite GB640, completely different beast, super lightweight, only half the weight of the stock Fender vintage tuners.

Help ID this (cause I want one)

Wood Custom Guitars are all custom order usually by their dealers, they do have 'standard' builds but only the classic Fender finishes and exotic wood tops. They're relatively new, very high end wood selection stuff, and don't forget that price tag, ouch!!!

Not Impressed with Babicz FCH Bridge

There's probably a reason why it's discontinued, you can't be buying a used product and expect perfection. I've had 2 Babicz, while they have their quirks I never had the issues you mentioned, it seems to be user error more than anything. I've tried pretty much all the mainstream bridges out...

AVII vs. Mod Shop: The Vintage P-Bass Dilemma

Why over complicated things, if you want vintage sound and feel stick with vintage stuff, high-mass bridge/string through will alter that experience. That said, Have you look into the MIJ Hybrid II series? These are comparable/better than MIA options. Vintage sound and modern neck spec and...

    Owning Two Exact Same Basses

I own about 9 Jazz bass at the moment, some of them overlapping but not the same model. Hard to justify a P bass, it’s all the same. But in my case I have one for the different era and sounds the J bass is known for, a classic 60s, modern 60s, classic 70s, ‘Marcus’ 70s, neo vintage, etc. of...

Period Correct Fender Jazz Bass Reissues - Mexico/Japan/America

Fender Japan have made many models that are as close to vintage as you can get other than going custom. In term of seer specs you'd want: - JB62-115 or JB62-100 or JB62-98 (Nitro finished, 80s JVs to early 2000s niche) - Heritage 60s (Nitro finished, USA tooling profile used and overseen by CS...
