Ok, and thunder, it is a Crate Bx160, and it hums when the bass is both plugged in and unplugged, and when the volume is at any volume.

I just unplugged EVERYTHING in my room. All of the lights and fans were off too. Nothing electric was on other than the amp, yet it still hummed.

I'm in my house, and I have no neon signs or anything like that. I have also not added anything electric to my room recently. I might go up there and try turning everything off but my amp, and see if it stops so that I can give you more information.

Oh, and I can turn the amp volume up or down and it doesn't change the hum at all.

About 20 minutes ago my amp was doing fine, but suddenly it started making this annoying humming noise, and it wont stop. It has nothing to do with the guitar because the amp still makes the sound when the guitar is unplugged. Also, I don't think that it is because of the lack of a grounding...

I plan on wiring a bass that I am going to make with a single humbucker. I was wondering what the best way to wire it would be with a volume pot for each half of the humbucker, a tone pot, and a polarity switch. please :help:

I just made up a schematic that I think might work. Now that I am looking over it though, I don't even think I really need the single/double switch for my humbucker. If I just use the volume knobs that I put there and take out the switch it would probably be much simpler too..... any thoughts...
