My musical background started in the 6th - 10th grade when I played trumpet in the school band. Fast forward 45 years during which time I was in the army (Infantry and Artillery), followed by a career in the civil service developing software for the Artillery, and I decided to try the bass. I started formal lessons. Despite still hitting wrong notes and struggling with other techniques, I'm enjoying the adventure of learning.
