    Sire Bass Club!

*UPDATE TO ABOVE POSTS* Well whattaya know. The Sire guys must check in on these threads because same day as my posts, I just got the phone call I was looking for and had my question answered. Plutonium244, you were absolutely correct, no Natural on the Alder models. Mickey's explanation that...

    Sire Bass Club!

First off, thanks so much for the lengthy reply. If I could get even one sentence out of Mickey Cho (yes, that's who I've been attempting to contact, that email and phone number, as well as just asking on their site), or anyone else over there, that'd be sufficient. Call me old school, well....I...

    Sire Bass Club!

Hey guys, pardon if I've missed something, I haven't gone through the 361 pages. I'm thinking of getting an M7 sometime after mid January and had a question for the guys at Sire. Weeks ago, I left an email via the website, then sent a few direct emails. I never got any responses. I tried calling...

Essex (SX) Bass Club - Part 15

Whoa, you know, I didn't notice that, I was too seduced by the wood. Good thing I got busy and didn't pull the trigger.

Essex (SX) Bass Club - Part 15

It was almost me. And as far as the scale length, to quote Dark Helmet in Spaceballs, "What's the matter Colonel Sandurz....Chicken?". :)

Essex (SX) Bass Club - Part 15

Oh, and Respect to Pookie on this Memorial Day weekend, who died in service of his coop, protecting Tuckel and the others from a bear attack.

Essex (SX) Bass Club - Part 15

Now I completely understand. I order from the used site all the time and you MUST be diligent, because it's a mess and there are many idiots involved. Word of advice, NEVER order the item online. I always call the store it's at and ask for a manager or A.M. I have them send me detailed pictures...

Essex (SX) Bass Club - Part 15

May I ask what happened at GC?

Essex (SX) Bass Club - Part 15

I'm sure it could be done, nothing a Dremel and a steady hand couldn't take care of. I just haven't gotten around to it yet.

Essex (SX) Bass Club - Part 15

In the interest of clarification, new information has come to light regarding this. While the SX necks now do fit into a Fender or Squier sized neck pocket, I've found that while it does fit side to side, the end of the heel is more squared off and doesn't slide all the way to the bottom of the...

Essex (SX) Bass Club - Part 15

As a long time SX player of at least a decade, the more I'm playing on this neck, the more I'm convinced they've gotten a different factory involved. One that uses CNC machines. The tolerances are much tighter, the fretwork is damn near perfect and there are other noticeable differences from...

Essex (SX) Bass Club - Part 15

I want to publicly thank ATLbassist for selling me this neck. It was a smooth, easy transaction and the neck's perfect. I didn't need to do a thing except install it and set it up. The fretwork is spot on with low action and everything works as it should. Seems to be much better quality control...

Essex (SX) Bass Club - Part 15

ATL, would you be interested in selling me the neck when the new one comes in?

Essex (SX) Bass Club - Part 15

Keep in mind that an SX neck will not fit into a Fender manufactured neck pocket. SX necks are a few millimeters wider. You can fit a Fender neck into an SX with some side shims to tighten it up, but not visa versa. Mighty Mite makes a nice neck that will fit your Squier.

Essex (SX) Bass Club - Part 15

You now have me thinking of getting one of those Rosewood/block inlay necks from samsguitarshop, but it's not coming up when I search the bay. Hmmmm...
