Take any bass of any design, any number of strings and you play cool, nothing but tone and chops it's cool and totally dope. In the hands of a talented and capable player gear means little than a means to a purpose.

I play 4, 5 and 8 strings (octave tuning) the 4 has a feel I certainly like and in some ways, I feel more expressive with it. I play hard rock and metal, and the low B with a 5 string just works for me. Play 'em all. The only one that doesn't work for me is the short scale bases. I had a few...
