Mr_B_Hhc

I was recently diagnosed with a progressive neurological disorder, which I am not sure I will ever get to grips with. I mention this not for sympathy or commentary, merely to explain that if I forget something or seem a tad incoherent this is is why and I fully welcome (and am grateful for) reminders and pointed questions as these at least give me a clue as to the ERR code involved, a CS0003 or a CS0021 for example XD.

Might have (probably do but it is not diagnosed in adults typically) Asperger's Syndrome but was initially educated in a time when no one recognised or diagnosed ASDs, I was just a naughty, destructive boy with "too much energy" (I was young when I noticed the human tendency toward oxymorons)

Please forgive any misinterpretation of intent, especially in written or non face to face communication as I am missing a vast number of cues in these situations which I quite literally learnt by rote to evaluate context and so intent.

Feel free to correct me, redirect me, admonish me for this as I always appreciate honesty and feedback and am so horizontal as to be effectively laying down at all times.

Life long learner having been a programmer (18 years job title) and a teacher of Computer Science (9 years). Also holder of many oblique and treasured qualifications such as 2 1st class hons. with distinctions (Applied Computer Science and Electronic Engineering) a Masters in Education with distinctions as well as TIG welding certification, Adobe certified instructor, Advanced (teaching of) Infection Control, Moving and Handling, two NVQ level 3's (Health Care Assistant and Correcting Diagnosed Faults in 2/3 phase AC Electrical Systems) and a plethora of certificates from Offshore Survival Training to CISCO certification (lapsed).

Every course I have ever been asked if I would like to attend or seen available, I have completed as empirical evidence has proven that every skill is transferable, a great insight into a system which was and can be entirely alien to me (human interactions) and valuable in tackling unfamiliar ground.

I write Electronic music of the:

"kinda sounds like x but not really and holy moly why is a3d4f in there? and why is the BPM in half time? Experimental variety"

and believe it or not, my prolific academic pathways and, frankly, blinkers severely hinder my grasp of musicality on a practical level at times.

If you read the entirety of this, perhaps you too need an ear on ASD in everyday life at times. I like to listen and understand others' positions and talking to others is the only thing I have ever found to be even vaguely therapeutic and display some efficacy in anxiety reduction.

If communication from me appears at any point to go awry (drop off, no memory of a previous discussion, etc. please go back to the location of the link to this document and re-read the core text “about me” as it is most likely the root cause. None of this will be personal unless I have explicitly stated so (and I will, very politely and rationally should the need arise, fortunately it rarely ever does).

Favorite Genres
I love most types of music as good music is good music, regardless of genre (nearly) for ease of list length, genres I actively avoid: Anything with "Death" in the name, most "pop" music unless I want to examine good engineering and production, not for enjoyment in the main, anything xxxxStep (Drumstep, Dubstep, Hardstep, etc.), anything (seems to be a lot of EDM in this category to my sensibilities, mainly obscure) which falls down on the side of "loud noise" not "loud music".
Gigs and Ensembles
Sporadic streamer (av. viewer count 50-500), DJ (Denon Prime 4) at anywhere I can make more noise than at home, even for crowds of 1, to share what I love with any fellow sentient lifeform is reward enough to make it viable and satisfying.
Previously Owned Gear
Nothing of any real interest to analogue musicians XD
G.A.S. List
A good headphone DAC / AMP (e.g. iFi Audio Pro iCAN Studio - Reference-Class Professional Headphone Amplifier & High-End Preamp). A server cluster for my DAW environment. More speakers, bigger amps, lower frequency response (currently 18Hz) subwoofers. Any number of QoL improving products for my production environment.
Influences and Teachers
Every musician who puts some of themselves in their music. Learnt with two successful electronic artists / producers / performers (1,000,000+ Monthly view on Spotify) and part of a server for producers mainly consisting of up and coming (4000+ capacity venue filling) American and Canadian EDM producers / performers. Zero formal training in music, instruments or music theory.
Hobbies and Interests
Programming, Problem Solving, Puzzles, Reading (Fiction, Hard Sci Fi in the main), Digital Art (PhotoShop, Illustrator, Blender, etc.), the exploration and appreciation of the natural world.
