Gigs and Ensembles
I'm in a band at college: Between the Lines; we play at college lunchtime concerts and one of my mates' birthday parties, but we're fairly new. I'm in a covers band as well. I play in the Ipswich School Big Band, playing jazz on my acoustic upright and westone at their school concerts and such.
Previously Owned Gear
A Badger Amp, used briefly!
G.A.S. List
What I am planning on getting at the moment: NS Design WAV4 Electric Upright (Double Bass) - http://www.nedsteinberger.com/instruments/closerlook.php
Waht I'd like to get (if money were no object!): A custom 5-string Fretless (not sure of a make!), A Laney Amp Stack of some description!
Influences and Teachers
Les Claypool, most definitely, particularly after I stopped being taught (I surpassed the teacher!). His slapping style is really what I hape to achieve one day, and his sheer accuracy is incredible. If anyone has seen Primus's Hallucino Genetics tour (if you havn't, I suggest you buy it off amazon!), their ability to ad lib it is amazing.
Flea of course, his spot on pizz is awesome! Victor Wooten also, and Ben Kenney from Incubus.
Hobbies and Interests
Snowboarding, Drumming (a bit) and my Dawg.
