On this forum, and the bands that I listen to a lot usually have pictures on FB of their rigs. I see a lot of additional stuff in their racks (ex. Sonic Maximizers). So it got me thinking what's the point of these extra pedals and such.

Hey all! I'm a bassist in a Metalcore band that is starting to get very serious. We're going to start touring within the next year and such. My question is, what else do a need to add to my rig to make it sound better and more "tour ready". I currently use a Fender Jazz with a Genz Benz Shuttle...

Because even with a 5 string set on, the low b is still fairly floppy, and as I said, it's floppy enough that it keeps hitting hte pickup, making that pop sound

Yeah I figured. I'll get them ordered, then take it to guitar center and let them do what they need to do to make the strings fit on my bass.

That really helps a lot thank you so much! Wow. they really sell .254 gauge strings? Who on earth needs that. But really thank you very much! that .150 set will definitely be tighter on my bass, which will hopefully eliminate that popping sound, and will be easier/more comfortable to play.

I'm very foreign to the subject of string brands/types of strings/technicalities of strings. I have a standard 34" bass. I checked out Link Removed. But all their higher gauge strings are made for basses over 34 inches.

I need to get my four string restrung/setup again soon. I currently have a 5 string set on, but I'm pretty sure either the guy who set up my bass is an idiot and put on the highest four strings instead of the lowest four, or the string gauge isn't high enough. So what gauge 5 string set should I...
