    SPECTOR® Owners Club

I don't think anyone is making the original one, right? But the one that is currently going into spectors is what I meant. They're pretty much the classic ones, or at least an acceptable substitute, right? Not the original, but the standard one. Just pointing out an alternative spot to get one...

    SPECTOR® Owners Club

Hey, I don't know if this is old news or not, but I'd figure I'd share anyway. I found a manufacturer of the classic HAZLAB circuit with what looks like the classic pots on it. Also, I don't know how the exchange rate is for dollars to euros, but it looks slightly cheaper than the $500 one that...

Official Crappy Bassist with Expensive Gear Club

Sounds like you're doing it right. All but the practicing part. If you should find yourself having to do that, at least remember to remain crappy.

Official Crappy Bassist with Expensive Gear Club

Whatever you have to do to keep yourself from practicing too much. You don't want to become too good with the thing, or you have to compensate for improved skill with hugely expensive gear. You know, to maintain the giant skill:cost ratio.

It was me. I got it. I look forward to putting it into an NS4CR. It's sure to sound extremely average, unless someone else is playing it. That growl is what I'm after. Surely they are very close in tone. I don't know if Korg will be as helpful with sourcing the US version, as I've emailed Taylor...

What is your favorite bass for playing rock?

    See profile pic. Bam, baby!

I have an early NS4CRFM, and can verify what you say. It is heavy, but not unmanageable. The neck is fairly thin, but a hair thicker than the korean bolt on legend I also play. Subtle differences, unique feel to each. And, as always, that tone demon is alive and thriving in both.

So, since Spector is now Korg, or however that worked out, if someone wanted to buy a NEW HAZ circuit, where would one get it? HAZLABS has their own website, and they'll tell you to buy direct from Spector. Ok, but then Spector has a different web page now, and the "order" page is gone, or at...

Official Crappy Bassist with Expensive Gear Club

So if you buy gear and improve, you have to quit practicing as often, or play drunk, to retain the "crappy" prerequisite. Best of times!

Most iconic hard rock/metal amp & speaker?

One way I've seemed to find luck in my own sound is to adopt one I like, and fine tune it or modify. This has helped me to pick the gear I prefer, and I fit snugly into a hard rock (maybe not metal, but close) category. I use all the gear in the avatar, all ampeg, namely the V-4BH. A lower...

Looks pretty genuine. It would be really difficult to reproduce one from anything else. The star on the 12th is the giveaway. That should be an inlay. Has the tone pump, looks pretty sweet, sir. Rock it!

    Singing over complicated basslines

Hey! Settle it down there. You're too busy! It's supposed to be playing bass, not working it.

    Power tube heaters

I'll replace that fuse, and see if it maintains that etherial tone. If it blows again fairly quickly, I'll know to keep digging. Thank you for all the support. All of you here have provided more help than I expected, and a ton more than any "customer service" robo switch board would be...
