Sounds like you're doing it right. All but the practicing part. If you should find yourself having to do that, at least remember to remain crappy.

Whatever you have to do to keep yourself from practicing too much. You don't want to become too good with the thing, or you have to compensate for improved skill with hugely expensive gear. You know, to maintain the giant skill:cost ratio.

I have an early NS4CRFM, and can verify what you say. It is heavy, but not unmanageable. The neck is fairly thin, but a hair thicker than the korean bolt on legend I also play. Subtle differences, unique feel to each. And, as always, that tone demon is alive and thriving in both.

So, since Spector is now Korg, or however that worked out, if someone wanted to buy a NEW HAZ circuit, where would one get it? HAZLABS has their own website, and they'll tell you to buy direct from Spector. Ok, but then Spector has a different web page now, and the "order" page is gone, or at...

So if you buy gear and improve, you have to quit practicing as often, or play drunk, to retain the "crappy" prerequisite. Best of times!
