    Postscript. I've finished the new cabinet, about 5 cu ft tuned to 50Hz Eminence CH-2010 8 ohm hemp cone speakers, pocket handle in the back panel for easy lifting total weight about 34Kg. I'm delighted with the performance, it goes right down to E on the bottom string (unlike some other quads)...

    Thanks for your thoughts, 55Hz could be a good compromise. It would be easy for me to raise the tuning but a little more difficult to lower it. So I might try 50HZ and see how it goes knowing I could raise it if necessary. Anyhow, I haven't tested the tuning yet, just did the calculations online...
