who has tried out the new Bugera BVV3000?

I have played a 5-string (cheap) bass through this amp and thought it was wonderful. Very fat and warm and powerful. I am thinking about getting one, and would love to hear more about reliability from other owners.

To those that don't live in the US: Does "MIA" matter that much to you?

Here in Romania, everybody goes woow when I whip out my MIA P Bass. Besides that, I also had a MIM P Bass that fell appart because of build quality and a Squier which, compared to the MIA, sounded like a toy. So, yes.

35W at home ? Is it enough ?

Judge with your ears, not by looking at specs. When I was looking into practice amps, I tried 160W amps that didn't speak to me, but when I heard the Fender Rumble 75, I couldn't go home without it.

    Going direct and sounds bad

Are you sure you're going into an instrument input and not a line input?

Why DID the Beatles Get so Famous?

The options in the poll are silly and transpire envy. They were very, very good. If you listen to one of their old live shows with an open mind, you will see it.

Peavey Bass Mark III Series AMP

TODAY is the day I found out my Peavey Mark III burned all four speakers on my Peavey 410TVX. How did it happen? I pulled the plug on the amp without turning the power off AND I plugged it back in with the power switched on. This resulted in an initial hum, after which the cabinet sounded poor...

Peavey Bass Mark III Series AMP

TODAY is the day my Peavey Mark III finally sounded good (great). Low end is finally there, plenty of power and clarity. So what did I do to it? -Cleaned the pots and faders -Replaced all electrolytic capacitors -Changed a few burned resistors -Fixed something about the compression switch (it...

Do Others Scoff At Your Choice to Use Cheaper Gear?

I don't mind if established pros pick on my gear, but I do mind if wannabes with no track record act like they know what's best for me.

Would you still be a bassist if you didn't have a band?

Apparently not. Since going bandless, I find the bass collecting dust in a corner and me not being in any mood to play it.

Tasteful use of a B string

Don't just use the B string scarcely, ride it! Who said low E was the center of the Earth? Church organs already went very low a long time ago. Dance music uses low D and C all the time. Why? Because humans like to feel the low notes. No point in being embarresed about it :)

    Fat low but clean.

Usually fat means saturated, distorted and full of harmonics. Not exactly clean ..

ANY love out there for MIM's?

I had a MIM P-bass once. It was the most poorly bass I had ever seen. Screws came off it all the time, the truss rod wasn't trussing anything anymore and the volume only had two options: max or off. Sound was good but still, I haven't considered any MIM since.
