    Traynor is one of my all time favorite brands for metal music, other than that make sure the amp had a really good low end if you still plan on playing death metal or else you'll be getting a lot of sound you don't want.

    Seven String Bass Tuning

    This really depends on the music your playing, but even playing really heavy(death metal ish) music I have never needed anything as low as an F#, I just wrote heavier music.
