Old Fender Guy
I started playing guitar in 1963 and got Mom to buy me a Hagstrom (plastic) bass guitar (love to have it back) and an Ampeg B15 Bass Amp. I had a great setup, but didn't know where to get any lessons so I taught myself. Played through Jr. High and High School and have played off and on since.
I am currently in a two piece band, with an acoustic guitar and myself on bass. We do small clubs and dinner clubs.
I recently bought a GL L-2000 bass just to have something with active pickups and now have added a 2017 Fender American Jazz . I have two old P basses that are my beloved babies and I alternate basses pretty much each time I play.
I had never owned a Jazz before and quite honestly love the growl I get from it. When I am gigging I now take a P and the Jazz. Our band is now working steady with 6-8 jobs a month. Its all I want to play at my age.
We practice 2-3 times a week and try to learn at least 2 songs per week.
