I think the NY122 is the best cab Markbass makes. Punchy, 4 ohm, relatively light and can get to deafening volumes with no problems. A more expensive option is to get 2 NY121.

I recently bought an M7 and the versatility is off the charts, so I am happy the M5 will be the same. I happen to love the look of natural swamp ash, so I really wanted the M5 since the M7 isn't offered this way.

My impression, it seems the M5 and M7 are remarkably similar, with the M5 being less expensive. Calling it an M7 would raise the selling price.

All those basses have a passive mode, and I typically play in passive mode. I like having the active EQ for occasional boosts, so I stick with the active basses.

I think the P7-5 is a great bass, but I don't think it nails that old P bass sound that so many seek out of the box. It may have to do with the way the passive tone knob works/doesn't work. It gets close when you put on an old school set of flats, like the GHS Precision Wounds, or the Labella...
