    Bartolini vs........

I've been a Fender only , or possibly letting a set of Lindy's sneak in, for years. In recent years I'm a big fan of the Michael Frank's ( Fender pickup engineer) Pure vintage , 63p, 64 & 74 Jazz PV pickups. These came out from the intro of the 2013-2017 AVRI bass series. The 2018-2022 AO...

    Guild Bisonic setup tips

I cut all screws shorter by b1/4" and now I have spot on intonation. I have to cut off 4 spirals of the springs too so they wouldn't look distorted.

    Guild Bisonic setup tips

Thanks for the feedback ! Big help! All the other bridges are at least $100 or so and this one seems similar to the Fender High Mass bridge. It's heavy though being a hunk of brass. The chrome finish is nice too. I have a bolt cutter and I'll file the ends to screw in properly. As far as...

    Guild Bisonic setup tips

The closest I can get it. I went through 4 different shim thickness to get it how I like it. I like a low action. The bridge is twice as thick as the Fender. Radius came out fine. Intonation is another story. It's sharp,so r I need shorter screws. I need another quarter inch to match the Fender...

    Guild Bisonic setup tips

I found a bridge that I'm going to give a try. I won't use it unless the 5 holes match up. I never ever add holes https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0FY6ZNHSV?ref_=ppx_hzod_title_dt_b_fed_asin_title_0_0&th=1 It would be a good experiment because it goes down to 17mm spacing, which is what I need...

    Guild Bisonic setup tips

Thank for chiming in! I had a trim under the pickup and now it's lower. At the last fret , and the flush magnets, I have at least and 1/8:" clearance. The pickup sounds great and people have come up to me and told me so. I have the outer magnets a but higher than the center 2. But,,, there has...

    Guild Bisonic setup tips

So I'm back to the stock bridge position. The A & D are spot on with the strings centered over the magnets. I've raised E & G to balance the output. My question is if the Curtis Novak BS-DS , having a Fender spacing, will sound the same or better.

I went back to stock install. There wasn't enough pressure on the saddle from the string

Here's a work around the string spacing. Taking the E & G bridge saddles out and using the string holes. The strings use the bridge holes.. Now the strings are dead center over the poles. Kind of an un-conventional move and has a arched effect look. It's solid and intonates perfectly.

All good info, was your starting point a flush position ? Or did you adjust according to radius like you would a P bass pickup set?

In need of a P bass single coil pickup

For the Aero-I'd have to raise the A & D to balance out the output. It's noticeable and Larry , from Aero, told me not to use it on a 9.5" radius.
