    Keeley Bassist

Great pedal, you can't go wrong. I had a Bassist on my live rig, and a GC-2 on my home practice rig for over 10 years. Personally, I couldn't hear the difference between the two, and the two were awesome compressors. Super easy to dial in because the knobs actually did something. I recently...

What case do you use to carry your IEMs?

I just use a cheap soft case to hold all my IEM needs. The divider on the right holds my spare Etymotic’s, charging cable and Alclair ear plugs.

Inexpensive Headphone Amp (w/ Bluetooth) for College Dorm

I've had good luck with the NUX Mighty Plug Pro. Have a couple of these. I live in a condo, and practice regularly with this. Nice to Bluetooth my computer, phone or ipad, and practice with my IEM's. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07B3GCHPC?lv=shuf&channelId=500&plpRedirect=mhFallback

    In ear buds for bass

When I'm not wearing my custom molded IEMs, I like the torpedo type of ear buds. I have really good luck with my Etymotic ER3XR's, and ER2XRs. Like others have said, the seal is everything.

    Let’s see some gig boards!

Wow, I'm surprised at how similar my board to a lot of boards already posted.

Are these PA speakers enough to go cab less on stage?

Like all the others.... I have a pair of QSC K12.2 as my mains for years. I had always piped guitar amps, bass amps and drums (kick and snare) through the mains as reinforcement. A few years ago, I decided to try going direct with my bass (now we're all ampless). At the time, I thought it...

    Need IEMs with hearing protection

Go customs. I had a hearing scare when my hearing dropped all of a sudden. I thought it was all my gigging, but it turned out to be the flu. But the incident drove my decision that my hearing is worth $300 (7 years ago: probably ~$400 these days). So I bought my first pair of custom Alclairs...

    Xvive U4 Wireless.

I've been using Xvive U4 for about 7-8 years. If you're having fidelity problems, it's most likely your IEM ears. I've been running custom Alcairs for about the same time. And I can tell you that the ear phones make a HUGE difference. I started out with decent Etymotics, but the custom Alcairs...

Running the PA in mono vs. stereo

Mono 100%. I have enough to do... (making sure all the band members get to the venue on time, hauling in the equipment, setting up the PA, running cables, connecting all the mics and instruments, running sound check, EQing all the channels, balancing the faders, rounding up band members to kick...

Real amps are better than going straight to house

I would just rather be known as old AND fat than lazy. 🤣

Real amps are better than going straight to house

100%! And there in lies the problem. If you like the audience to experience your band with all the stage wash mixed in... then big honking amps are great! Personally, I'm to old and crippled to want to haul around the full PA AND my mega bass rig and wedges. I would much rather haul my full...

Real amps are better than going straight to house

Ya, I totally get it. I LOVE my two Bergantino HD112's being driven by my Gallien Krueger MB800 sledge hammer vibrating the concrete floor. But... At most of my gigs where the patrons of the bars and restaurant want to still be able to hear their children the next morning, and the bars don't...

Best Bass to amp wireless rig

Definitely agree. My GLXD16 has been working flawlessly over the years. I wouldn't count these out just because it's just 2.4Ghz. But... if this one dies, I would get a GLXD16+. However, I have a feeling my old one is not going to die anytime soon.

Best Bass to amp wireless rig

This is not necessarily true in all respects. A really good 2.4 GHz system will out perform a cheap 5.0 GHz system. Plus, 2.4 GHz systems have a much further usable distance than 5.0 GHz systems. I'm not saying that one is better than the other, just I wouldn't count out a really good 2.4 GHz...

Show me your compact pedalboard setup

https://www.talkbass.com/threads/show-me-your-compact-pedalboard-setup.891222/post-29595702 Just use a myVolts USB-C tip and make sure you use a compatible power bank and cable as documented in myVolts. I've played 4 hour gigs where my board was on for 5 hours, and used less than 50% of the...
