just to clarify, i have the master at around 9, and the gain around 3-4...the gain isn't cranked.

yea, the head is 450 watts, and the cab is 500 watts. i don't actually boost the low bass so that shouldnt be a concern. learned that the amp works more efficiently when you take away what you dont want rather than add what you do.

so is blowing the cab something that happens over time i take it? not something that i need to worry about happening all at once?

i tried using the master as a master and the gain as a gain, but when i was unsatisfied with the results, a lot of people suggested that i try it the other way. im also worried about damaging my cab more so then the head....

tried a bunch of the stuff everyone suggested. worked out VERY well....a welcome side effect is the perfect amount of grit is added to my sound, that sounds way more organic than a sansamp. The wierd thing is that did away with the smiley face eq....meaning boosted mids, and slightly cut...
