Good point about sounding like a guitar player. I can see that in what I'm doing. That said, some basic bass riffs sound just fine with a pick.

I've just started playing bass after decades on guitar, mostly using a pick. I find using a pick on my P-Bass sounds great and I can play much easier right off the bat. My goal is to play with others occasionally. Is there anything I'll miss by using a pick rather than my two fingers? I will...
