I couldn't find a pre slotted Graph Tech nut for my nut width (1 3/4"). I'm going to have my tech do the work for me.

I've found one that's preslotted. I'm wanting a more punchy sound. I do play with a pick as well.

The nut on my Pbass broke on the treble side yesterday while tuning. I'm debating on going with either a brass nut which will not have to be slotted vs a graph tech that will. My bass has a classic 50s neck on it so the nut width is 1 3/4".

I'm thinking about swapping the tuners on my bass. I've got a classic 50s neck on my bass now. Does anyone know if the 70s tuners would fit or not?

I recently swapped out necks on my MIM P-bass. So I'm selling the original neck with the tuners and a Graphtech nut. It's your standard neck, maple, 9.5 radius, truss rod adjust at the headstock and satin back and gloss fretboard. There is one small belmish at the fourth fret, its a brown mark...

I've got an MIM that I like okay. I mainly want the 70s Pbass for the allure of owning a vintage bass. I played a '78 P-bass once it was nice and wasn't too heavy. The more I look around at vintage basses I'm leaning more towards something with a rosewood fretboard. That's a beautiful bass...

Thanks for all the advice guys. Looks like I'll be looking for a '69 to a '75 P-bass. I'm really surprised that Fender didn't do the three bolt neck like they did the stratocasters and Tele Deluxe.

Fender still has some dogs out there. Things do slip by QC to this day. I'd be interested in seeing that '66 Jazz bass. :bassist:

Thanks guys. I sort of figured that the earlier 70s basses would be more consistent. The entire CBS era of Fender was a bit sketchy when it comes to quality control. The biggest thing for me is being unable to play one locally. Which is the case for most things I GAS for. :roflmao:
