Would you buy a bass without trying it out due to it impossible to try?

Although I know some just feel good, they're not Excalibur; they all sing if you make them.

    Another Guitarist problem

Hey Hey Hey. Take it easy on us 6-stringers. It's probably the most important lesson I've ever learned, to let the song breathe, let the space do the work. I'd want to hear "The tone we're reaching for has to have a lot of space and I feel like we're adding too much when the song really doesn't...

Recommended upgrades to a MIM Road Worn P

It's kind of a 2 part thing with the neck. The most common mod I've heard is the neck, saying that the J neck is just more comfy because it's thinner. Also, I do not like maple necks, but this was the only configuration I could find.

PB by Pino-no-no posted Nov 14, 2019 at 3:31 PMHere's my trusty P and I want to start tinkering with other options for it. With your collective experience, what upgrades made you the happiest? I play a lot of genres on guitar. Blues, rock, country, some metal-ish stuff, classic rock. I’m having fun with country music but Pino is my favorite bassist. I’m not sure what my style is yet

It's tough to unlearn a behavior and realistically, I don't have enough hours logged to find a voice in a band yet anyway. I'll keep thumpin' away and seeing what I can do. I can play Rage Against the Machine and Foo Fighters stuff and a handful of random country tunes; anything you think I...

This is all solid advice. I find myself playing scales a lot and it just doesn't have the right voice most of the time. I can hear it in my head better than I can translate it to my hands if that makes sense.

Howdy y'all! I'm new to the group and wanted to introduce myself. I'm new to playing bass, but I've played guitar for 6 years now. I'm having a tough time with phrasing though. I seem to like "riffy" base-lines but I stick out like a sore thumb when I record my own bass tracks. Any advice?
