PiquetBass

Played Bass in a gigging band at the pubs and clubs around Leicester and Northants (UK) in the late '80s and early '90s doing our own numbers - rock and metal mainly, with a couple of covers thrown in.
Brief hiatus when the kids were small and growing rapidly.
Did a few benefit / money-raising gigs for the local scout-group and cricket club mainly around rock and pop in the last 10 years. Very casual gigs with musical friends, but few and far between.
I have just left a local Grunge tribute band covering Nirvana (of course), Stone Temple Pilots, Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam and the like.

G.A.S. List
Fender J Bass.
Fender P Bass (now got one, so technically could cross this off the list).
One of Steve Harris's basses - especially his blue sparkle Fender.
Another old Aria Pro II XRB with passive pick-ups. Preferably a blue one this time, but black would do. Or red.
A Squier PJ bass for gigging (so I don't have to worry about knocks and raucous crowds).
A nicely balanced Ibanez bass with passive pups for gigs (see above for reasoning).
Influences and Teachers
Steve Harris - Iron Maiden (the main reason I picked up the bass in the first place).
Mark King - Level 42.
Robert DeLeo - oh so smooooth!
Steve Kalorin - Woodfish. If you don't know them, look them up. You owe it to yourself.
Lemmy. Because.
Billy Gould.
Duff McKagan.

Mark at Talking Bass.... a great teaching resource.
Hobbies and Interests
Cycling and fishing, and a bucket-load of home DIY.
