Need some feedback on a decision

Yep, one of my favs! I went with the Fender Ultra V (if anything, just to have any arsenal) and am testing a used exotic xj-1. I played my jazz for the first set and my super J for the second--it definitely is the superior instrument for feel and playability until I get the jazz into my tech for...

    What a bummer! (rant)

Always, my low end Friend. I'd like to say mine has slowed a little bit, but really it's just that I'm flat broke lol

Actually that looks super cool and possibly close! Thanks for the info, might be worth taking another look at that if I can talk them down

    What a bummer! (rant)

For sure. Problem is I've looked into sourcing that bridge pickup.....isn't standard MM size, so it's either routing or finding a broken on with working electronics to gut....

Totally, I'm with you on that. I have a Sandburg VM5 that I absolutely love. Just more of a frustration with a decent instrument. There was something a little different about the sound when I had one that was pretty awesome.

    What a bummer! (rant)

Yeah, I get that. A friend of mine's buddy found a Lakland 55-94 listed as a 55-02 and got it for like $1200. unfortunately it had neck issues and had to have it redone/fixed :-( But I've seen some great deals. Also lots of stuff that sits because its overpriced. And I've listened to what...

Hmm, same snark. Ok. Well, I would have wanted it had they not screwed it up. I had it in my cart and then examined the pics and was so bummed.

    What a bummer! (rant)

Might be sound-wise, who knows. I did like that dual jazz/humbucker/whatever it was. It added some great punch to the sound. Also have a circuit board/specified electronics in it, so who know if those were original. I had some nice barts in my carlo before I swapped them for the lakland usa...

About half of them, if you really want to know. But you don't, just being a snarky jerk. So....? have a nice day, I guess....

Might have to lol. Glad you commented, actually. I've been looking around for that cab on FB and never could find it again. Sending you a pm

    What a bummer! (rant)

I had one of these Fender American Deluxe Precision V's a while back, and I actually liked it, but wasn't in the right place to keep it. Harder to find, and a great sound. Here one finally pops back up at a semi reasonable price.....and they messed with it and don't have the stock pickup. I...

    Dingwall Owners Club

Actually it's super different. It has the neve preamp, selectable middle pick up, traditional blend, and tone control, which I think honestly gives a better tonal array. I absolutely loved mine!!!

Is there a Yamaha BB club? There is now!

I get that. I definitely would have a hard time picking it over my bfr's or dingwall Z as well. I'm kind of looking for a middle ground bass for some oldies/rock/old school motown. Not that either of the other two can't do that! Thanks :-)

Happy to have found "the club" Stongly considering a bbp35....for those who have it, is it worth the $$? Two nice used ones on here, and new isn't all that bad either.

Thanks all for the input. I pulled the trigger on testing a Xotic XJ 5, will report back at some point if I keep it :-).
