    Fodera Club Part XXVII

Yeah Michele, it looks like I need to play around with finding a balance between the neck relief and the bridge action. I just need to take more time with it. A huge thanks for your input! KoaFodera, right now the neck it almost completely straight, and I think that's the main problem. Adding...

That is a stunning fingerboard...like having a presentation top on your neck! Do you keep your action really low, or is it the angle of the pic? Just curious because winter here in the mid Atlantic has wreaked havoc on my intonation, neck and ebony fingerboard. I did a setup a month ago but...

I agree with Rich. I would add that the attack of the ebony is quicker. Maybe try a Kingwood board? Jason tapped some for me when I was at the shop...sounded very nice. A good option between Indian RW and Ebony.

I have a Mahogany/Ash/Mahogany body on my Monarch. It's a bolt-on with Ebony FB, but FWIW it's very rich and punchy. Plenty on crunch/low end thump. Lot's of mid range growl, if that's what you like. It's very versatile though. Gets a great slap tone and sounds great with the bridge pup soloed...

I had a great visit at the shop today for a set up and a minor repair(don't be like me and have someone set up your bass that has never worked on a Fodera). Everything I've heard is true about how welcoming they are. Joey could tell why I was having intonation issues just by looking at the...

Have any of you folks ever drivin to the shop in Brooklin? I recall some saying that parking was not easy. I want to get some work done, and would like to drop the bass off myself just to see the place and meet the wonderful people there. Any thoughts or advice?

I did the exact same thing on my monarch. I realized that where my fingers were playing 95% of the time was right over the back PUP...which was not the case with previous basses. The Poles bugged me as well, so on went non exposed covers. A much better feel, although I am toying with the idea of...
