Labella Flats 49-109 or 52-110 (Jamerson) for Drop C#

As mentioned earlier, just addicted to the feel of Labella flats now (past 1 year+ on and off). Will it be a passing trend or real longtime interest, time will tell haha!

Labella Flats 49-109 or 52-110 (Jamerson) for Drop C#

Really appreciate all the additional inputs, lots of insights on both the strings and bassists! Currently I am thinking of the LaBella 52-110 to use for the G&L L-1000 for a simple fix vs custom sets, although I might also think to get the LaBella 49-109 to use on my Fender MIA 75th P bass...

Labella Flats 49-109 or 52-110 (Jamerson) for Drop C#

Thanks for your input! Now is to think either 52-110 or 49-109, not sure how much or little difference in both feel and sound. Tried the 52-110 on my P bass downtune to C# earlier to test, I think tension wise is ok, although I think slightly thicker gauge would be better. Checked Labella...

Labella Flats 49-109 or 52-110 (Jamerson) for Drop C#

Right, got brain mush for a moment. At least with that I can test the feel and tension since both basses are 34" scale. Thanks again for your help. Anyone has used both strings, please do chip in your opinions too, thanks!

Labella Flats 49-109 or 52-110 (Jamerson) for Drop C#

The 52-110 is on another P bass, incase I'm not clear in my initial post haha. Do not want to remove from that bass, as it has been properly setup and intonated. So how's the Labella 49-109 serving for you in terms of the tension and sound for C Standard? Thanks again!

Labella Flats 49-109 or 52-110 (Jamerson) for Drop C#

Hi All! Would like to ask opinions on which one will be better suited for Drop C#. Currently it's on Elixir 50-105 rounds, the 105 rounds still feels a bit too floppy for me. So thinking the Labella flats with more tensioned feel might suit better, I have the 52-110 on a P bass for motown kind...

    Origin Effects BASSRIG

Just had to get the Bassrig SV to see which one I like more (vs the ‘64). Whereas the Halcyon, got it after hearing you guys’ awesome demos here! Can’t wait to try both of them out when my apartment’s renovation + moving over of stuff will be done by next weekend (hopefully)!

Bought used, I could probably email Sterling MusicMan to ask. But I would assume they will ask me to cover my own shipping to US I guess? Shipping from my country (Singapore) to US costs like 320 USD thereabouts based on the bass dimension and weight. So no one really does shipping back to US...

Also another follow up on my 2022 Ray35 Sparkle Blue. Brought it to my usual guitar tech for setup last weekend, tech said it was a fantastic bass for everything except that QC failed for the truss rod. As he was trying to adjust straighten/compensate the neck bow, the truss rod can’t turn...

I think I did mentioned in a follow up post, it is a huge chonk at around 4.8kg (10.6 lbs for US folks). The seller actually used it for a month or so only, think he had one too many basses haha So definitely one of the recent months production I believe.

Took a few more photos of my bass couple of days back, if anyone wants to see the blue sparkle in different angles.

Tuners doesn’t seem to be a problem at least for now. I’m too beginner to check for the truss rod though. Did solve the knobs’ issue myself. They did not lift up the knob a bit when locking the knobs, thus it’s level with the pickguard, so when turning clockwise/anti clockwise it will dig into...

Link Removed Caught a 2022 collection Ray35 at my local marketplace app today, sent a message for a slight price negotiation and got it at a ok price (I hope?). It is approx $575 USD after conversion from my native currency. But I digress, Blue Sparkle is exactly the colour I would buy if I’m...
