    I've had that bass (twice) and the first thing I needed was a pre-amp! It sounds like an acoustic bass, so you have to "turn up" its voice. For the rest of the sound that comes off live I guess that Sir Paul doesn't use any pedals.

    I remember that the upright was for "Free as a bird" but it was "doubled" with the Wal 5 string, not the Fender.
