    'XTCT and TCT Bartolini Preamp'

That is genuinely a very good question I don’t have a proper answer for. Taking in account that Marcus Miller’s original jazz bass does indeed have the TCT, the only thing I can think of is that if atelier would put the TCT into their MM models the sound would be identical to Tomohito Aoki...

Guys I just wanted to clarify quickly here and warn everyone about the danger of using an AI in such an extremely wrong way. First - AI is an extremely advanced text editor, it’s not a person, and it couldn’t ever learn/analyse/know ANYTHING about Aoki San. An AI becomes so clever by multiple...

Blue steels for example came from Amazon, and silly me was thinking “oh yes, now stainless steel will excite the hell out of the magnets”. Surprise - they sounded dead on arrival. There is something sinister about stainless steel strings that were not stored in proper conditions and how...

Supporting the great Tomohito Aoki’s legacy

In the video it seems in both cases with old dead strings and the new strings, the sound is ultra bright from the amp or DI he’s using, it’s so harsh. So I can imagine that if it brightens the old strings like this, maybe the old strings don’t sound that different initially.

I have a feeling that semi flags that were made for Aoki just have a “shaved off” outer core that was round wound and then shaved or maybe it’s a half circle shape, like a sphere cut in two halves? As the description on their package also says - the metallic zing zang is there, it’s just that...

Supporting the great Tomohito Aoki’s legacy

Guys actually, i figured it out a long time ago but didn’t write it here, and hiding it would be a disservice to Aoki Sensei, so i will leave my theory: In the album “Sea is a lady” and in a couple of other songs from other artists Tomohito Aoki has a very special sound. His bass is super...
