I've owned a 4003W for two weeks now and it sounds as great as it looks! I have always been a P-bass man, but this Ric is sweet, it will undoubtedly be my #1 bass very soon.

Lo-E & Jools 4001 have hit it right on the head, I have played Fender's and Hofner all my life and the Ric is a totally different animal. But now that I own a 4003W I would never give it up, love the look and sound, worth the forearm ouchie. I just can't put it down once I start playing it.

Have a couple Fender P's a Fender Victor Bailey acoustic Hofner and recently bought a Ric 4003W all 4 strings w/frets. The new Ric 4003W is amazingly flexible and can be used for all styles of music with a little fine tuning to amp & bass.
