I built a guitar rack for my basses and my kids' guitars. It took about a year with life getting in the way and just being lazy about it. Thought you folks might like to see it.

By my measuring tape, it is right about 1-7/16"

I measured all the screw holes and pickup in my 1983 Peavey Patriot so I could model and 3D Print a custom thumbrest without drilling any new holes in the pickguard or body. It's not pretty, but it works great.

I'd like to join the Patriot club too. Mine was gifted to me by a friend who aquired it and hadn't used it but a couple times in 10 years. The serial number shows it to be from 1983. After a couple months of playing it I still didn't feel comfortable with no good place to use as a thumb rest...
