I can imagine they are very different basses, as the Ibanez is very thin and I read it has smaller string spacing and all. What are the differences in tone? How does that affect the versatility? I'm new to bass, so I'm not sure what type of tones to look for in different styles and all.

It seems like a very good bass, but I forgot to say, I'd really like to have 24 frets to get that extra octave though.
